Citizen Robbery / Glen Burnie

On October 2, 2020 at approximately 8:45 p.m. officers responded to the 7200 block of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in Glen Burnie for a robbery. The female victim advised a silver sedan, occupied by two white males and one black male, pulled up to her and a friend and asked for directions to Telegraph Road. When the victim began looking up directions on her cell phone, the black male passenger, while in the vehicle, grabbed the victim's arm with the phone in her hand. The white male driver began to drive away. This caused the victim to be dragged approximately 10 feet until she released her cell phone. The suspect vehicle fled south on Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard towards Interstate 97. The victim was not injured as a result of this incident. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle or suspects. Citizen Robbery-Stabbing / Brooklyn

On October 4, 2020 at approximately 7:45 p.m. officers responded for a report of a stabbing in the 900 block of Victory Avenue in Brooklyn. Upon arrival, officers located the 44 year old male victim at the rear of the residence near Townsend Avenue suffering from an apparent stab wound to his torso. Officers rendered medical aid until EMS personnel arrived. Further investigation revealed the victim had made a withdrawal at an ATM and was robbed by an unknown suspect, described by the victim as a black male wearing a light colored sweatshirt and jeans. The suspect stabbed the victim during the robbery and fled toward Townsend Avenue. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. On October 4, 2020 at approximately 6:50 p.m. officers responded for shots fired followed by a vehicle, a black Volvo, that had crashed into a pole in the area of Raleigh Drive and Sebring Court in Severn. Upon arrival, officers located the 21 year old victim on the ground outside his vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound. The suspect, described by witnesses as a black male and by the victim as a Hispanic male, had fled on foot in an unknown direction. Officers observed a large amount of suspected marijuana in plain view inside the Volvo, which was seized for further investigation. The victim was transported to an area hospital in stable condition. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. No other injuries were reported as a result of this incident. Fatal Crash / Pasadena

On October 4, 2020, at approximately 5:45 pm, officers responded to Mountain Road near Fairwood Drive for a crash involving a pedestrian. A black GMC Acadia was traveling westbound on Mountain Road approaching the intersection with Fairwood Drive and struck a pedestrian walking along the shoulder of the roadway. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire Department paramedics. The driver and passengers of the Equinox did not suffer injuries. The crash is currently under investigation by the Traffic Safety Section.

Fatal Crash / Pasadena

On October 4, 2020, at approximately 7:00 pm, officers responded to Fort Smallwood Road near Chestnut Cove Drive, for a single vehicle crash. A blue Ford Explorer was traveling southbound on Fort Smallwood Road approaching the intersection with Chestnut Cove Drive when, for unknown reasons, the Explorer left the roadway and traveled into the woods on the southbound shoulder. The Explorer travelled a short distance and came to rest after striking a tree. The driver was treated by Anne Arundel County Fire Department paramedics and transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Preliminarily, the primary cause of the crash appears to be that the driver suffered a medical event. The crash is currently under investigation by the Traffic Safety Section.

Homicide / Glen Burnie
On Sunday, October 4, 2020, at approximately 8:01 p.m., Anne Arundel County Police responded to the 600 block of Crain Highway, Glen Burnie, for the report of a fight. When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive adult male lying near the front door. Officers immediately began rendering first aid and conducting CPR on the victim. Upon arrival fire department personnel continued CPR as they transported the victim to a local hospital. It was later that the victim, identified as Jose Salvador Mancia Aguilar a twenty-three year old male from the 400 block of Irene Drive, Glen Burnie, Maryland, succumbed to his injuries. Evidence indicates his death as being a homicide as the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy on Mr. Aguilar to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene along with the Evidence Collection Unit. A canvass was done where physical and digital evidence were collected from the crime scene. Several interviews were conducted with witnesses in regards to the incident.
