Shots Fired (Arrest) / Glen Burnie

On May 17, 2020 at approximately 5:50 a.m. officers responded to the 100 block of Olen Drive for a shots fired call. Multiple rounds struck a vehicle in the driveway of a residence. District Detectives responded to the scene and were able to develop the suspect. A search warrant was obtained for the suspect, his vehicle and his residence. Upon searching the residence located in the 100 block of South Kossuth Street in Baltimore, detectives recovered a shotgun, 5 pistols, an AR-15 rifle, an AR-15 pistol, an AK-47 pistol, numerous high-capacity magazines and a large quantity of ammunition. The suspect was charged with several counts of first degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, and related charges.

Citizen Robbery / Glen Burnie

On May 16, 2020 at approximately 12:00 p.m., officers responded to a houseboat at the Hand Bros. Marina at 7501 Brightwater Beach Rd. in Glen Burnie for a report of a strong-arm robbery, which had occurred May 15, 2020 at approximately 11:00 a.m. The victim was waiting at a bus stop on Crain Highway South near 5th Avenue when he was approached by two suspects who asked him for a lighter. As he reached for the lighter, the two suspects assaulted him and stole his backpack containing personal property, The suspects then fled. Shooting / Glen Burnie or Pasadena Area

On May 15, 2020 at approximately 8:40 p.m. officers responded to an area hospital for a report of a shooting. The victim advised about 40 minutes prior he was in the parking lot at the Home Depot on Mountain Road when he was shot in the ankle by two males asking if he sold drugs. Through the investigation it appears that the shooting may not have actually taken place where the victim advised. Northern District Detectives are asking anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the area neighborhoods surrounding the Home Depot to call 410-222-6135 or the TipLine at 410-222-4700.

Shots Fired / Glen Burnie

May 16, 2020 at approximately 1:15 a.m. officers responded to the 8000 block of Budding Branch Road in reference to a citizen’s report of shots heard in the area. Shortly after the shots were heard, six vehicles were seen leaving this location. During a canvass officers located multiple spent shell casings on the sidewalk near the apartment building. Officers located one parked vehicle with damage from the gunshots. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident. Fatal Crash (Bicycle) / Severna Park
2020-715247
On May 15, 2020 at approximately 12:19 pm, officers responded to the 600 block of Shore Road in Severna Park for a vehicle crash involving a bicyclist. A 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 77-year old bicyclist were both travelling eastbound in the 600 block of Shore Road. The Jeep began to turn right into the driveway of his residence when the bicyclist came from behind the Jeep and ran into the side of it. The bicyclist was transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center and later to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore where he was pronounced dead at a later date. The driver of the Jeep remained on scene and was uninjured.
Preliminarily, the primary cause of the crash appears to be the driver of the bicycle failing to yield right of way to the turning Jeep. Alcohol/Drugs are not believed to have been a factor in this crash. The Traffic Safety Section is handling the crash investigation.
