Citizen Robbery / Brooklyn

On April 3, 2020 at approximately 7:30 a.m. officers responded to the Brooklyn Fire Station for a robbery of a citizen that occurred at approximately 3:00 a.m. in the parking lot of the Budget Plaza Motel located at 4810 Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn. The victim got into the back seat of a vehicle occupied by three suspects with the intent to purchase CDS. As the vehicle pulled out of the lot, a male suspect, who was seated next to the victim, demanded property and cash from the victim. The victim complied and was removed from the vehicle. The victim then walked to the fire station to get help. Through investigation, officers identified the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest. On April 3, 2020 at approximately 1:00 p.m. officers spoke with a victim who reported that on April 1, 2020 at approximately 9:00 p.m. the victim was at a residence in the 500 block of Church street when an unknown male suspect struck him on the head with an unknown object and removed cash from his pockets. The suspect then produced a handgun and demanded the suspect withdraw additional cash from an ATM. The suspect took the victim to a convenience store accompanied by two additional male suspects. The victim gave the suspect additional cash and was then struck in the head by one of the suspects, causing him to lose consciousness. The victim described the suspects as black, 20-30 years of age. On April 5, 2020 at approximately 10:00 a.m. officers responded for a robbery of a citizen in the area of Frankle Street and 2nd Avenue in Brooklyn. At approximately 9:40 a.m., the victim was walking when he was being followed by two unknown males. The victim attempted to run, but was caught by the suspects who assaulted him and stole his cash. The suspects fled toward Baltimore City. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects. No weapons were displayed during this incident. The victim refused medical treatment. Western District

Assault / Laurel

On April 1, 2020 at approximately 1:45 p.m. officers responded for an assault at a housing complex office located at 1 Ellen Street in Laurel. An office staff member reported a female suspect entered the complex leasing office and confronted her regarding the towing of the suspect’s vehicle and demanded she be reimbursed for the cost of the tow. When she was denied reimbursement, the suspect assaulted the staff member by grabbing her arms and telling the staff member she was Covid19 positive, and now the victim had the virus. The suspect then fled from the area. Investigation led officers to a suspect who was identified and charged. A criminal summons was issued for the suspect on April 3, 2020.

Southern District

Shots Fired / Riva

On April 5, 2020 at approximately 8:50 p.m. officers responded for a single gunshot heard in the area of 3000 block of Perch Drive in Riva. A witness heard a gunshot and then observed a silver Hyundai Elantra immediately leaving the area. A responding officer located a vehicle matching the description and found it to be occupied by three individuals. Investigation revealed the three subjects were attempting to distribute CDS to two suspects when one of the suspects fired a gunshot and took a small bag of marijuana. A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of a jar containing 13 grams of suspected marijuana. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident. The female driver was charged on a summons for possession of CDS over 10 grams.
