Attempted Citizen Robbery / Glen Burnie

On March 3, 2020 at approximately 3:00 p.m., officers responded to the parking lot of Judy’s Island Grill, located in the 800 block of Crain Highway North in Glen Burnie for an injured person. The victim advised he had been struck in the head with an unknown object during a robbery attempt. The victim went on to say that two white males, approximately 30-40 years old demanded his money. When he refused he was assaulted and the suspects fled on foot. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Northern District Detectives are handling the investigation and are asking anyone with any information to call 410-222-6135 or the TipLine 410-222-4700.

On, March 31, 20202 Governor Hogan made a stay at home directive. For Animal Care & Control this while some services aren’t available, the lifesaving processes will continue including, but not limited to, caring for all animals at the shelter, responding to public safety related service calls, investigating cruelty and the live release of animals.

To reclaim an animal or bring in food/litter/cat carrier donations that may be given to needy pet owners or used at the shelter, you must make an appointment. You must know in advance that your animal is at the shelter and have proof of ownership. Please call 410-222-3919 (between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday-Saturday) or email ACCFrontDesk@aacounty.org to arrange pick up.

Volunteers, fosters and staff have been amazing in helping clear out and keep clear the shelter by taking home animals. Anne Arundel County residents interested in alleviating space issues at the shelter as they arise please fill out our foster application https://www.aacounty.org/departments/animal-control/forms-and-publications/Foster_Application.pdf and email it to P98730@aacounty.org and P93282@aacounty.org. We will process applications as quickly as possible.
Services that will not be available until further notice include:
♦ Viewing animals ♦ Adoptions (these occur as possible with social distancing) ♦ Shelter tours ♦ Trap loaning ♦ Owner-requested euthanasia ♦ Rabies/Microchip Clinic ♦ Processing of Affidavits of Complaints ♦ Community education programs ♦ Licensing in person (all licenses can be mailed in. Licensing deadlines extended) ♦ Accepting donations other than food/litter/cat carriers that may be given to needy county pet owners – appointments required to bring it in ♦ Owner surrenders of animals (for emergencies relating to this, contact field services) ♦ Routine Spay/neuter surgeries
Animal Care & Control will continue to provide live virtual tours when possible to show the animals here at the shelter in hopes of getting lost animals back home, getting new fosters, lining up rescues and lining up adopters for when operations resume. Times may vary, but we anticipate that the live virtual tours will occur around 9:30 a.m.
