Theft from Auto (Arrest) / Odenton

On February 19, 2020 at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers responded to the 100 Block of Pine Cove Avenue in Odenton for a report of suspicious activity. Callers reported seeing a male pulling on vehicle door handles and looking into vehicles parked along the street.  An additional call was received indicating the male had removed an item from one of the vehicles and left the area toward Town Center Boulevard on a red scooter. An officer located the male suspect on the scooter and found him to be in possession of property stolen from one of the vehicles. The suspect was arrested and transported to Western District for processing.

Western District officers continue to patrol neighborhoods looking for suspicious activity related to theft from autos and remind community members to always lock their vehicles, hide or remove valuables, and always report suspicious activity to police.

On 2/19/20 at approximately 10:45 a.m., officers were in the area of Graybird Court and Stillmeadows Drive due to recent incidents of thefts from vehicles. An officer on patrol observed a male who was walking along the sidewalk discard a large black object. Upon closer inspection, the officer found the object to be a black leather wallet. The male suspect was detained and found to be in possession of two containers containing U.S. currency. Officers contacted the owner of the wallet who positively identify the property as belonging to him. Officers then responded to where the victim's vehicle, a 2015 Buick Regal, was parked and found the driver's door to be ajar. The suspect was arrested and transported to Western District for processing. Western District officers continue to patrol neighborhoods looking for suspicious activity related to theft from autos and remind community members to always lock their vehicles, hide or remove valuables, and always report suspicious activity to police.
