Gun Task Force/Gang Unit
 
Detectives with the Gang Unit, Firearms Investigative Unit and Maryland State Police Gang Unit initiated an investigation in September of 2019. During the course of this investigation detectives learned Charles Jones, D.O.B. 03-06-93, was selling drugs from from an address in the 7800 block of Tall Pines Court, Glen Burnie, Maryland. During the course of this investigation detectives obtained probable cause for a search warrant.
 
On October 7, 2019 detectives conducted surveillance in the 7800 block of Tall Pines Court. Detectives approached Mr. Jones and were able to detain him without incident. Once Mr. Jones was in custody, detectives executed the search warrant on his apartment and recovered the following;
 
       5.63 grams of crack cocaine
      $2,700.00 U.S. Currency
       A box of plastic baggies
       An operable digital scale with residue
       A box of 9mm ammunition
 
Detectives contacted the Maryland Gun Center, which advised Mr. Jones is prohibited from possessing firearms and or ammunition.
 
Mr. Jones was charged with CDS PWID crack cocaine, CDS possession not marijuana, 2 counts of CDS possession paraphernalia and illegal possession of ammunition.
 
This investigation was a coordinated effort between the Anne Arundel County Police Department and the Maryland Department of State Police under the Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network (MCIN). The Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention (GOCCP) provides grant funding and strategic support to MCIN member sites to identify, disrupt, and dismantle criminal organizations through inter-agency collaboration and data sharing to make Maryland safer.

CDS Arrest/Baltimore
 
During the month of September members of the Anne Arundel County Police Department opened a CDS investigation based on a tip. During their investigation probable cause for a search warrant was developed and a search and seizure warrant was issued. On October 7, 2019 at approximately 8:15 p.m., members of the Anne Arundel County Police Department executed the search and seizure warrant in the 1400 block of Stoney Point Way, Baltimore.

Eastern District Home Invasion/Pasadena
 
On October 8, 2019 at approximately 10:45 p.m. officers responded to the 800 block of 205th Street in Pasadena for a home invasion. The homeowner advised a white male entered her home with a gun. The male grabbed the victims purse and stole personal property, to include her car. Responding officers observed the vehicle who continued to flee the area when officers attempted to stop it. A short time later the vehicle crashed (no injuries) into a fence and the suspect fled on foot. Officers on the ground and in the air canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspect. There were no injuries reported during this incident and the homeowner advised she left her door unlocked.
