Fatal Crash Glen Burnie
On December 25, 2018 at approximately 7:45 p.m., officers responded to MD 100 East just west of Oakwood Road in Glen Burnie for a crash involving multiple pedestrians.
A Volkswagen was eastbound on MD 100. A small group of pedestrians were attempting to cross MD 100 from the area off of Hospital Drive. The Volkswagen struck two of the pedestrians. One pedestrian was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The other pedestrian was transported to a local trauma center with serious injuries. The driver remained at the scene.
The preliminary cause of the crash appears to be the pedestrians unlawfully crossing a controlled access highway. There is no indication of excessive speed or alcohol use by the driver. The Traffic Safety Section is handing the investigation and the case will be reviewed by the States Attorney.

Northern District
Commercial Robbery Glen Burnie
At approximately 11:30 a.m. Christmas morning officers responded to the Royal Farms, 6901 Ritchie Hwy., Glen Burnie for an attempted robbery. Officers learned a white male wearing a mask entered the business, implied a weapon and demanded cash. The clerk did not comply, the suspect then grabbed products and fled. There were no injuries reported and no further suspect description is available.
Attempt Commercial Robbery Glen Burnie
At approximately 12:30 p.m. on Christmas day officers responded to the Royal Farms, 7201 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Glen Burnie for report of a commercial robbery. A white male suspect, implied he had a weapon, jumped the counter and began to pry the register with a tool he brought. Unable to get the register open, he fled the scene. There were no injures reported in this incident and no further suspect description is available.
