Mission Statement
The Primary mission of the Training and Research Division is to provide on-going training, education and certification to fire service personnel necessary to insure a competent, efficient and effective emergency response organization. It is the further mission of this division to provide the necessary research, evaluation and recommendations for new products and procedures necessary to maintain a state-of-the-art emergency response organization.

Seating priority will be given to students from the MFRI Upper Eastern Shore Region
Course descriptions and prerequisites available at www.mfri.org
NOTE: Some week night classes may require weekend sessions.
Applicants requiring special accommodations should call (410) 222-8360 (v) or (410) 222-9747 (TDD) at least 5 working days prior to the class start.
Inclement Weather Policy
Classes scheduled at the Training Academy will be canceled if any of the following apply:
1. The Maryland State Police Snow Emergency Plan is in effect 2 hours prior to the start of class. This information can be found on the State Highway Administrations
