Armed Robbery (Attempt) - Hanover

On June 12, 2023, at approximately 3:45 p.m., officers responded for an attempted armed robbery that just occurred at the Artisans Fine Jewelry located inside the Arundel Mills Mall in Hanover. The suspect fled the store prior to officers' arrival. Investigation revealed that the suspect, a white female, entered the business and asked to see two watches. The suspect attempted to grab the watches from the employees and flee the store. The employees managed to hold onto the watches, at which time the female suspect lifted her shirt exposing a handgun in her waistband. The female threatened the employees, who refused to release the watches. The suspect fled the store without the watches. A robbery detective responded to the scene and positively identified the suspect as the same individual involved in the robbery of the Kay Jewelers in Annapolis that occurred on 5/31/23 (23-719740). Within hours of the incident, the Fugitive Apprehension Team began their search for the suspect, who was located in a neighboring jurisdiction. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and found to still be in possession of a handgun. The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly.
