On April 18, 2023, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a registration violation in the area of Ritchie Highway South and 11th Avenue in Brooklyn. During the course of their investigation officers conducted a search of the vehicle. Officers located a digital scale, approximately 614g of suspected Promethazine, 371g of suspected Dextromethorphan Promethazine, 12 caps of suspected Heroin/Fentanyl, 7g of suspect crack cocaine, 12 packages of suspected marijuana (edibles), 27g of suspected marijuana (flower) and $424 in cash. The driver and a passenger were arrested and charged accordingly.

Shooting (Non-Contact) - Severn

On April 18, 2023, at approximately 12:00 p.m., officers were conducting foot patrol in the area of Stillmeadows Drive and Durness Court in Severn when they encountered several spent shell casings scattered on the ground. Officers went on to learn that on April 17, 2023, at approximately 10:15 p.m., a citizen called in a report of gunshots being heard in the area of what they believed to be Stillmeadows Drive and Dunfield Court. There were no reports of physical injuries or property damage as a result of the shooting. Burglary- Lothian

On April 18, 2023, at approximately 9:30 a.m., officers responded for a report of a burglary that just occurred in the unit block of Mullen Lane in Lothian. Officers were told that the victim was inside the residence when she heard what she believed to be items being broken in the lower level of her residence accompanied by a male voice that was not her husband’s. Upon their arrival officers conducted a search of the residence and discovered that the suspect fled prior to their arrival. Officers met with the victim’s husband who indicated that he suspected it was a relative that lived next to them, who committed the burglary. While the officer was assisting the evidence collection technician he overheard a disturbance occurring. The officer immediately made his way toward the disturbance and observed the male suspect assaulting the male homeowner. The officer promptly took the suspect into custody. The officer learned that the suspect returned to the address and was confronted by the homeowner just prior to the assault. The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly.
