An Anne Arundel County judge on Tuesday sentenced Terence A. Green Jr. to 25 years in prison for the rape and sex offense of a 14-year-old girl at his Brooklyn Park home, State’s Attorney Anne Colt Leitess announced.
Upon his release, Green is required to register as a lifetime sex offender and will be on five years of supervised probation.
“The defendant deserves every bit of this sentence for preying upon a young girl who trusted him as a family friend,” Leitess said. “This sentence not only removes the defendant from our community for the foreseeable future, but ensures he is a registered sex offender for life.”
On August 18, 2021, the then 14-year-old victim and a parent reported to police she was raped by Green, who was 27 years old at the time, at his residence the previous month. During an interview, the victim disclosed that she was at Green’s home with a family friend when Green invited her to his basement to show her something. Once downstairs, Green forced the girl to perform sex acts before forcing himself on her. The girl said she told Green to stop, but he refused. The family friend confirmed to police that the girl and Green were in the basement alone for a period of time on that date. She also said she scolded Green when she caught him looking at the victim in a sexual manner as they left his residence.
In March 2023, following just two hours of deliberations, an Anne Arundel County jury found Green guilty of two counts each of second-degree rape and third-degree sex offense.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Anastasia Prigge on the behalf of the citizens of Anne Arundel County, with the Honorable Cathleen M. Vitale presiding.
