Stabbing - Odenton

On July 20, 2023, at approximately 1:00 p.m., officers responded for a report of a stabbing that just occurred at the Subway, 8765 Piney Orchard Parkway in Odenton. Preliminary investigation revealed that the adult victim was with his girlfriend and her child at the aforementioned business. While at the business the adult suspect, who was described as the former significant other of the girlfriend and father of the child arrived on scene. An argument ensued and at some point, the suspect attempted to physically take the child. The victim intervened and became involved in a physical altercation with the suspect. At some point during the struggle, the suspect produced a knife and stabbed the victim in the torso. The victim was transported to an area trauma center for treatment of what was described as a serious non-life-threatening injury. The suspect, who suffered an undetermined injury during the incident was transported to an area hospital for treatment of what was described as a minor non-life-threatening injury. UPDATE:
After receiving medical treatment, the suspect was arrested and charged accordingly.

Pedestrian Crash - Severna Park

On July 20, 2023, at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers responded for a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the 800 block of Ritchie Highway in Severna Park. Preliminary investigation revealed that the pedestrian, who was wearing all dark, non-reflective clothing, was in the travel portion of southbound Ritchie Highway when he was struck by a 2012 Toyota sedan. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital by Anne Arundel County Fire Department and later pronounced deceased.
The crash is currently under investigation by the Traffic Safety Section.
