Matthew Phillips served for 20 years as a Nuclear Surface Warfare Officer in the U.S. Navy. A career at sea, he served on five ships, culminating in command of USS Whidbey Island (LSD 41). Prior to Command at Sea, he was a Junior Board Member on the Nuclear Propulsion Examining Board, a Special Assistant to the Vice President as a White House Fellow, and a Military Assistant in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Mr. Phillips now serves as an Executive Director in J.P. Morgan Chase’s Corporate Investment Bank. He graduated with honors from the U.S. Naval Academy, Naval Postgraduate School, and Imperial College London Business School. He and his wife, Amy, and their three children, Jack, Emma, and Hank, live in Arnold.
