Fatal Collision - Laurel

On August 16, 2023, at approximately 6:45 p.m., officers responded for a motor vehicle collision involving a single vehicle on Route 198 East near Route 32 in Laurel. The investigation revealed a 2018 Mazda SUV was traveling eastbound on Route 198 when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway, overturned, and struck a tree. The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire Department personnel. Traffic crash investigators are actively seeking next of kin for the deceased to make the necessary notification.
This crash is under investigation by the Traffic Safety Section.
