On August 19, 2023, officers from the Baltimore Police Department responded to an address in their jurisdiction for a report of a domestic assault. The male suspect was identified as Police Officer First Class Tyrell Thomas #2462, a 3-year veteran of the Anne Arundel County Police Department. He was placed under arrest and charged with second-degree assault. PFC Thomas is assigned to the Bureau of Community Services. PFC Thomas has been administratively suspended with pay pending an Office of Professional Standards investigation.

Robbery (Citizen) - Laurel

On August 20, 2023, at approximately 11:40 a.m., officers responded for a report of a strong-arm robbery that just occurred in the 3400 block of Laurel Fort Meade Road in Laurel. Investigation revealed that as the victim was using the ATM, a black male wearing a blue shirt and shorts, approached her. The suspect grabbed her and slammed her to the ground and started hitting her with his fists. The suspect took the cash from the victim that she had just removed from the ATM and fled east on Laurel Fort Meade Road in a silver sedan. The victim suffered minor injuries.
