A lot of you have contacted me through social media, email and in person about the progress of Phase III of the Broadneck Trail. As many of you have noticed, work on the trail has been paused since Labor Day. I reached out to the county agencies coordinating this project to understand the reason why we haven’t seen construction activity. As with any construction project, especially one so large, unanticipated hiccups can occur. That is the case here. Portions of the trail's design are being re-evaluated before work can resume. County staff and construction crews were on site this weekend to review the sections in question and discuss the design. Work is anticipated to begin near the Community College in early October. Work along College Parkway is anticipated to begin again in mid October. I know there is a lot of excitement and anticipation for this phase to be completed. I will remain in communication with county agencies to keep residents of the peninsula informed on its status.
