Weapons Violation- Glen Burnie

On October 4, 2023, Northern District detectives observed a subject on a social media livestream removing a black handgun with an extended magazine from a purse. Detectives were able to identify the location where the subject was walking and attempted to make contact with him in the 6400 block of Freedom Drive in Glen Burnie. The suspect fled on foot upon seeing the detective's vehicle and discarded the purse. The suspect was quickly apprehended and taken into custody. Detectives recovered the purse, which contained a black handgun loaded with 24 rounds of ammunition, a 30-round extended magazine, and a black Glock handgun loaded with eight rounds of ammunition. The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly.

Shooting (Non-Contact) - Glen Burnie

On October 5, 2023, at approximately 12:00 a.m., officers responded for a report of shots fired in the 8100 block of Great Bend Road in Glen Burnie. Upon arrival, officers heard several gunshots being fired and noticed shots being fired toward them. Officers took a tactical position and announced their presence to the subject who was firing the rounds. The officers coordinated with the Aviation and K9 units to safely apprehend the subject. The Aviation Unit advised that they observed the subject on the ground, and the officers approached to find him suffering from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Officers ensured the scene was safe for paramedics, who rendered medical aid and transported the subject to the University of Maryland R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. The subject was pronounced deceased at the hospital. One of the responding officers sustained a minor injury during the incident and was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center for treatment. Recovered from the subject were a Taurus 9mm handgun, a H&R 732 Ink .32 caliber revolver, and a Panzer Arms Shotgun.

On October 4, 2023, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers checked on a suspicious occupied vehicle, parked after hours, at Glen Burnie Park, located at 500 Everett Road in Glen Burnie. Officers noticed two males seated in a black Chrysler 300. Through investigation, officers learned the vehicle driver had a suspended license and could not drive the vehicle. A consent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a loaded Polymer 80 9mm handgun. The driver was arrested and charged.
