County Executive Pittman was honored to speak at the Anne Arundel Women Giving Together (AAWGT) 2023 Grants Showcase at The Atreeum at Soaring Timbers on September 20th. Founded in 2006, AAWGT has awarded over $1.7 million in grants to 52 local nonprofits that improve the quality of life for women and families in Anne Arundel County. The 2023 Grantees include Harvest Resources in Anne Arundel County, Maryland Latinos Unidos, Start the Adventure in Reading - STAIR Annapolis, and many more! We can’t wait to see how they use their funds for good.

The Showcase also offered a chance to hear from the 2022 grant recipients. The Assistance League of the Chesapeake provided required school uniforms for elementary school children. The Community Alliance of South County funded an overnight summer camp for low-income children. The Tahirih Justice Center used their grant to provide legal services to immigrants escaping gender-based violence.

Thank you to AAWGT for showing continued support of nonprofits in Anne Arundel County!
