Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works runs an impressive operation recycling, strategically using cell 9 of the landfill (cells 1-8 have been filled and closed), and composting.

Fun fact - the gases from the closed cells are piped to a power plant on site where the energy from the gases are put back into the power grid!

Fun fact 2- one bundle of compressed cardboard weighs 1 ton!

The Bird's Eye view from closed cell 8 was AMAZING. We could see points from Pasadena to Millersville
