Motor Vehicle Crash (Fatal) - Glen Burnie

On November 19, 2023, at approximately 10:20 a.m., officers responded for a motor vehicle crash on northbound Route 10, north of E. Ordnance Road in Glen Burnie. The investigation revealed a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro was traveling northbound on Route 10 when it sideswiped a 2012 Ford Explorer. The Chevrolet left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver of the Chevrolet was pronounced deceased at the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire officials. There were no reported injuries to the driver or passenger of the Ford. This crash is under investigation by the Traffic Safety Section.

Robbery (Citizen) - Glen Burnie

On November 19, 2023 at approximately 2:50 pm, officers responded for a robbery of a citizen in the 5500 block of Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn. The male suspect assaulted the victim and attempted to grab the victim’s purse. The victim fought back against the suspect, however the suspect was able to obtain the purse. The suspect then withdrew a box cutter knife and threatened to cut the victim. The victim backed away and called for help. Responding officers located and arrested the suspect, who was charged accordingly.

On November 19, 2023 at approximately 9:55 p.m. officers responded for an armed robbery in the 6500 block of Charter Road in Glen Burnie. A male suspect pressed a handgun against the 33-year-old male victim’s back and demanded property from the victim. The victim complied and the suspect fled in a dark Honda SUV. On November 19, 2023 a victim of a robbery called to report a robbery that occurred on November 15, 2023 at approximately 10:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Defense Highway in Crofton. The 37-year-old male victim was approached by a 20-40 year old black male suspect who pointed a black handgun at the victim and demanded property. The victim handed his wallet over to the suspect who then fled in an unknown direction. Western District detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to contact 410-222-6155. On November 20, 2023 at approximately 1:50 a.m. officers responded for an attempted robbery of a citizen in the area of Disney Road and Stanley Lane in Severn. The 53-year-old male victim was out for a walk when he was approached by four black juvenile males who demanded cash from the victim. When the victim refused, the suspects assaulted the victim by punching him, and one of the suspects implied he had a weapon, however no weapon was displayed. The suspects fled after being unable to obtain cash or property from the victim. Western District detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to contact 410-222-6155. On November 20, 2023 at approximately 12:55 a.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop of a black 2012 Honda Civic on Laurel Fort Meade Road near Russett Green East In Laurel. A passenger, who had an outstanding arrest warrant through the DC Metropolitan Police Department for murder, was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a loaded .380 semi-automatic handgun. The passenger was arrested and charged accordingly.

On November 18, 2023 at approximately 3:45 a.m. officers responded for a home invasion in the 100 block of Oakwood Road in Edgewater. A male suspect forced his way into the 64-year-old victim’s home as she answered a knock on her door. The suspect, threatened the victim and demanded money and valuables. The victim handed her purse to the suspect who fled on foot. The victim did not report any injuries.
