Motor Vehicle Crash (Fatal) - Glen Burnie

On November 23, 2023, at approximately 7:40 p.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle crash in the area of northbound Ritchie Highway at Kuethe Road in Glen Burnie. The investigation revealed that a 2010 Hyundai Tucson was traveling northbound on Ritchie Highway when it struck a pedestrian in the travel lane. The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk and was wearing all dark clothing when he was struck. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire Department officials. The crash is under investigation by the Traffic Safety Section.

Attempted Robbery (Citizen) - Severn

On November 23, 2023, at approximately 2:20 p.m., officers responded for an attempted robbery of a citizen in the 1800 block of Kilmory Court in Severn. The 22-year-old victim was standing outside smoking a cigarette when he was approached by two unknown suspects who both displayed handguns and demanded currency and the victim's vehicle keys. The victim informed the suspects the vehicle had a manual transmission, and the suspects fled on foot. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. Carjacking - Hanover

On November 24, 2023, at approximately 9:00 a.m., officers responded for a carjacking at the Hanover Costco. The adult female victim was approached by two male suspects armed with handguns who demanded her vehicle. The victim complied, and the suspects fled in the victim’s blue 2011 Land Rover Range Rover, traveling toward Rt. 295. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. On November 27, 2023, at approximately 6:00 a.m., officers responded for a report of gunshots fired in an apartment building in the 3400 block of Holly Creek Drive in Laurel. An adult male told officers he heard a gunshot and then saw two males with handguns fleeing the building. Officers located a handgun in one of the apartments. However, no victims were located. On November 27, 2023, at approximately 4:00 a.m., officers responded for reports of shots being heard in the area of Pinewood Street near Cedar Avenue in Annapolis. Upon officers' arrival, they located several spent shell casings on Pinewood Street between Cedar Avenue and Holly Avenue. No victims were located, and no vehicles were found to have been struck. Assault - Linthicum

On November 21, 2023, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers responded for an assault at a residence in the 600 block of Shipley Road in Linthicum. The investigation revealed a male resident became aggressive toward an adult female caretaker in the residence. As the caretaker attempted to calm him down, the male violently assaulted her. The caretaker was transported to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The male was arrested and charged.
