On December 31, 2023, at approximately 3:30 a.m., officers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 2046 Davidsonville Road in Crofton for a report of subjects taking money from the ATM. Through investigation, officers discovered that two Black males, wearing all-black clothing, entered the store about 30 minutes prior and forced the clerk to sit on the ground. They attempted to pry open the ATM, but they were unable to make entry. No weapons were displayed during this incident. The suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction. On January 1, 2024, at approximately 3:05 p.m., officers responded for a report of shell casings on the ground on Russett Green East and Sagewood Road in Laurel. Officers located multiple spent shell casings on the sidewalk of Russett Green East. Upon canvassing the area, officers learned that several community members heard gunshots around midnight.
