Annapolis, MD (January 26, 202) - On Thursday, February 1st, at 2:00 p.m., Mary Chaput, Program Director of the Family Caregiver Support Programs, will present “Dementia: It's Not Just Memory Loss." Dementia is a devastating illness that is more than just memory loss. It is a degenerative disease that impacts an individual’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social functioning. This session will delve into the 5 A’s of dementia and the impact they have on the individual with dementia and their caregivers. This workshop will be held at the North County/Hein Office Building, 7320 Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie.
On Thursday, February 8th, at 2:00 p.m., Michelle Henderson from the Chesapeake Life Center will present "Supportive Care." When you or a loved one is seriously ill, it changes all parts of your life. Where do you turn? Supportive care can help. Understanding supportive care can lead to better decisions about the care you choose. Join us to learn more about Supportive care and how it is care that meets the needs of each person. This workshop will be held at the North County/Hein Office Building, 7320 Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie.

On Wednesday, February 21st, at 10:00 am, an in-person Dementia Live® workshop will be held at the North County/Hein Office Building (7320 Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie). The Dementia Live® workshop is a high-impact dementia simulation experience that immerses participants into life with dementia, resulting in a deeper understanding of what it is like to live with cognitive impairment and sensory changes. The workshop will be held at the North County Office/Hein Building at 7320 Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie. You can register for this workshop by calling 410-222-4375 or 410-222-4339. Space is limited.
These workshops are presented at no cost to the public through the National Family Caregiver Support Program of the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities.
