Maryland Therapeutic Riding (MTR) is an award-winning Equine-Assisted service organization that has earned Premier Center Accreditation from the distinguished Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH). Central to their organization is a credentialed staff, team of licensed therapists, certified instructors, equine specialists, dedicated volunteers and a herd of intuitive horses. Together they create a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages growth and achievement. MTR works with more than 400 participants annually providing more than 4,500 service hours.
Located on 25 serene acres in Crownsville, MTR is dedicated to improving the quality of life of children, adults, active military and veterans with special needs by connecting humans and horses in a healing environment. MTR offers adaptive riding, physical/speech/occupational therapies and equine-assisted psychotherapy as well as equine learning, camps and special programming to further meet the needs of our community providing a safe and nurturing environment where individuals can build strength and confidence, develop essential life skills and form meaningful connections.
