The Nonprofit Center is offering targeted capacity building consulting services for six local nonprofits in the areas of board development (leadership and governance) and communications and marketing.  

 

Organizations interested in board development (leadership and governance) could utilize 7-8 hours of consulting services to address capacity building areas including:

  • Review of board conflict of interest form, policy, documentation, and follow-up with recommendations for updated plan and implementation
  • Review and update board job descriptions, roles and responsibilities, board member commitment and pledge, and develop annual implementation plan/timeline for board updates
  • Review board governance/compliance documents and update according to best practice (whistleblower, grievance, board documentation repository, committee description/charters)

 

Organizations interested in communications and marketing could utilize 7-8 hours of consulting services to address capacity building areas including:

  • Review of promotional materials, annual report, or website with recommendations for updates 
  • Review current marketing and communications plan/yearly calendar with recommendations for quarterly action items
  • Review current social media activity/plans with recommendations for monthly social media organizational priorities

 

Nonprofit organizations applied to receive this individualized consulting and have been assigned a consultant, through Maryland Nonprofits, with expertise in the selected area. The consultant will work with the organizations through July 2024. The program is valued at $2000.
