Assistant State’s Attorney-Entry Level Prosecutor
The Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s Office is seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals for entry-level Assistant State’s Attorney positions. Begin a career in prosecution with comprehensive training provided in our District Court Division.
The Office is led by a career prosecutor and provides robust support to attorneys, including a team of Victim Advocates, Case Managers, Body Worn Camera Paralegals, Investigators, and other administrative staff who are committed to seeking justice for victims of crime.

Division: District Court Division, locations in Annapolis and Glen Burnie, Maryland
Position Type: Full-Time
Starting Salary: $81,100

Qualifications:
- Education: J.D. from an accredited law school
- Licensing: Admitted to the Maryland Bar
- Judgment: Demonstrated good judgment and ethical decision-making
- Skills: Manage a high-volume docket and strong attention to detail
Key Responsibilities:
- Case Preparation: Review and prepare criminal and serious traffic cases for trial, interview witnesses, coordinate with police agencies
- Court Advocacy: Represent the State of Maryland in various court proceedings including bail reviews, preliminary hearings, criminal and traffic trials, and sentencings
- Legal Research: Conduct legal research to support case preparation and strategy
- Communication: Respond to inquiries from the public and governmental agencies
