The Anne Arundel County Police Department is seeking a part-time Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical or a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor to join the Youth and Victim Engagement Services Unit working with the Fresh START program. Fresh START is an innovative pre-arrest diversion program aimed at holding youth accountable while reducing the collateral consequences of a juvenile arrest record.
This position involves working closely with youth and their families to address the underlying causes of delinquent behavior. The candidate will collaborate with police officers assigned to the unit to assess youth needs and identify appropriate services to meet their needs. The candidate will provide training for unit personnel and youth.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
- Must have experience working with adolescents
- Experience in trauma-informed care
- Experience in assessing for mental health/substance use
- Able to quickly learn computer case management system
