Duties May include
This position provides recommendations to the Court through written evaluation reports and/or testimony in contested child access and adoption cases; custody investigations include but are not limited to home inspections, interviews of the parties and child(ren) if appropriate, observations of parent/child(ren) interactions and interviews with collateral contacts including social services, educational and medical and mental health professionals; evaluates whether specific cases should receive a custody evaluation and/or other type of evaluation; serves as an ADR provider to help settle family law matters; and duties as
assigned.
Required
Must be a Maryland Licensed Certified Social Worker-C (LCSW-C), Maryland Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or Maryland Licensed Clinical Marriage or Family Therapist (LCMFT). Excellent verbal and written skills, computer literacy, and skills necessary to effectively interact with judges, magistrates, court staff, attorneys, and litigants are required. Candidates must have experience working with high conflict families or families in crisis. The ability to appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information is essential.
Preferred
Knowledge of family law/court procedures and mediation or other alternative dispute training.
Salary/benefits
This is a full-time grade 16 position with county benefits. Starting salary range is $75,569 - $95,000 and is commensurate with relevant experience.
