The Anne Arundel County Office of Information Technology is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of a Desktop Support/HelpDesk Technician. This is a Temporary/Contractual position with a $20.00 per hour salary.

Summary:

Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting to end-users experiencing hardware or software issues with their desktop computers, laptops, and peripherals. This position will perform HelpDesk functions along with general desktop support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the county wide HelpDesk with incident management of receiving, logging, tracking, troubleshooting and escalating users support requests via a ticketing system
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems related to desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams as needed.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to users via phone, email, chat, remote or in-person interactions
  • Provide desktop support for all County staff, including remote locations

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree or higher in a related Information Technology field or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of experience in a desktop support, helpdesk or technical support role
  • Experience with Goggle Workspace Environment including Gmail, Calendar, Drive
  • Experience with client-facing consulting engagements
