The Training Development Specialist creates formal and informal training content using a variety of materials and methods in the areas of industrial electricity, instrumentation, mechanics, and safety as related to the water and wastewater industry. Coordinates vendor training as required monitors training effectiveness and identifies areas for improvement. Coordinates with other Bureaus and assists them in delivering training as required. Works cooperatively with subject-matter experts and assists The EXCEL Training Specialist the development of tests for in-house certification programs. Performs related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in education (or a related area);
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Business Suites with an emphasis on MS Excel and/or Google Sheets;
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Possess a valid non-commercial Class C motor vehicle operator's license.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, principles, and practices of technical education.
- Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of safety training.
- Ability to plan, design, and implement engaging and effective training for adults.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other county departments, and the public.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to prepare and maintain required statistics, records, and reports.
