Eastern District detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred on Somerset Bay Drive in Glen Burnie on April 10, 2024. At approximately 3:00 p.m., officers were notified of a walk-in shooting victim, a 24-year-old male at the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center, suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to an extremity. Multiple 911 calls were then received for a shooting in the 200 block of Somerset Bay Drive in Glen Burnie. According to witness accounts, the victim was in his vehicle on Somerset Bay Drive when he was shot by an unknown male operating a white sedan. Further investigation indicates this was a targeted offense and not a random act of violence. Narcotics/Weapons Violation - Laurel

On April 11, 2024, at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers were on patrol in the 3400 block of Laurel Fort Meade Road in Laurel when they observed a parked occupied vehicle, a gray Mazda CX-30. Officers checked on the occupant and observed open alcoholic beverage containers inside the vehicle. Further investigation led to a search of the vehicle based on probable cause, resulting in the seizure of a loaded 9mm handgun, suspected controlled dangerous substances, and paraphernalia indicative of distribution activity. The suspect was arrested and charged.
The following items were seized as evidence:
Two plastic bags containing small plastic containers used to conceal/separate/store controlled dangerous substances for sale.
One clear plastic bottle containing suspected Promethazine or Codeine.
One clear glass jar containing suspected Cocaine, Fentanyl, or a combination of both.
One purple plastic container containing a suspected Cocaine, Fentanyl, or a combination of both.
Two clear containers containing suspected Cocaine, Fentanyl, or a combination of both.
One green metal smoking device.
One Sig Sauer 9mm handgun
Eight rounds of 9mm ammunition
