Northern District
Weapons Violation / Glen Burnie

On April 10, 2021 at approximately 1:00 a.m. officers responded to the 200 block of Spring Maiden Court for a subject armed with a handgun. Two male subjects had been asked to leave a residence due to one of them having a handgun and for behaving disorderly and argumentative with the residents. Once outside, the subject with the handgun, later identified as Elijah Smith, continued to behave in a disorderly fashion, shouting threats toward the residents. Officers arrived and located the subject who attempted to enter a vehicle driven by the other subject. The officer was able to detain the subject and located a loaded Smith & Wesson .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun inside the vehicle. The handgun was reported stolen through Prince George’s County in 2020. Both subjects were arrested and charged.

Northern District
Carjacking (Arrest Update) / Glen Burnie

On April 5, 2021 at approximately 2:30 a.m. officers responded for a carjacking in the area of Baymeadow Drive and Ordnance Road in Glen Burnie. The adult male victim reported he picked up the male suspect in Baltimore who had promised him drugs and a prostitute. The victim drove the suspect to the area of Vernon Avenue in Glen Burnie and picked up a female suspect. The victim then drove to the 100 block of Blades Lane in Glen Burnie where he parked. The male suspect then punched the victim in the head. The victim exited the vehicle and the male and female suspect drove off with the vehicle, striking a parked vehicle as they fled. The male suspect returned to the scene and struck the victim with the vehicle before fleeing a second time. EMS personnel responded and transported the victim to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle or either suspect. Update (04/12/21):

As a result of the investigation, detectives were able to identify both suspects involved in this incident. Detectives obtained arrest warrants for both suspects who were taken into custody on April 9, 2021.

Northern District
Robbery / Brooklyn Park

On April 9, 2021 at 11:50 a.m. Northern District officers responded to the 4100 block of Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park of an armed carjacking. Upon arrival, officers located the victim who stated he was in the rear of his residence preparing to enter his vehicle when two suspects approached him. Suspect #1 pointed a black handgun at the victim and demanded his belongings. Suspect #2 then took the victim's wallet containing U.S. currency, cell phone, and a necklace. Both suspects then fled the area in the victim’s car, a 1993 light blue Cadillac Deville with a Maryland tag of 432Z14. The victim's car was last seen traveling north on Ritchie Highway towards Baltimore. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle. CDS Violation (Arrest) / Brooklyn Park

On April 10, 2021 at approximately 4:15 p.m. officers assigned to the Northern District conducted a traffic stop of a white Dodge Caliber in the area of Hillcrest Avenue and 3rd Street in Brooklyn Park. Upon approaching the vehicle the officer detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The investigation led to a search of the vehicle resulting in the seizure of 34 bags containing suspected crack-cocaine, 41 Alprazolam tablets, 34.68 grams of suspected marijuana, 25 Oxycodone tablets, a digital scale and packaging material. The driver was arrested and charged.

Western District
Assault w/ Firearm / Severn

On April 10, 2021 at approximately 10:09 p.m. Western District officers responded to Pioneer Drive at Jacobs Road in Severn for two black males riding a blue Yamaha TTR 125 dirt bike armed with a black handgun. The passenger on the dirt bike pointed the handgun at the victim's vehicle when the victim’s car and the dirt bike almost collided in the roadway. The dirt bike driver continued to follow the victim until the victim suddenly attempted to stop, causing the dirt bike to almost run into the rear of the victim’s vehicle. The suspects then fled the area headed towards Pioneer Drive. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects or the dirt bike. Western District
Assault (Firearm) / Hanover

On April 11, 2021 at approximately 11:55 a.m. officers responded for an assault in the 7000 block of Arundel Mills Boulevard. An adult male and his wife were walking through the parking lot when they were approached by a white vehicle. The driver of the vehicle spoke to the couple briefly and then drove off. As the vehicle pulled away, the driver pointed a handgun out of the vehicle window and fired one round toward the couple. Neither victim was struck by the round. Officers were able to locate the suspect, who was positively identified by the victims. The suspect was arrested and charged. The suspect vehicle, a white Dodge Durango, was located and impounded for further investigation.
