Shooting – 200 Block Polk Drive Glen Burnie
On April 17, 2021 at approximately 0017 hours, officers responded to the 200 block of Polk Drive and Heritage Hill Drive, Glen Burnie for a shooting just occurred. Officers located one male victim suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The male victim was treated on scene by officers and transported to the University of Maryland Medical Center for further medical treatment. Investigation revealed an unknown suspect fired multiple shots striking the male victim and striking two nearby occupied homes. The victim was struck one time in the upper torso. The two homes were occupied at the time the spent rounds entered the interior living spaces. The families were not injured. Officers maintained a presence as detectives and evidence collection processed the scene to gather further information. This investigation is continuing. Shooting – 6400 Block Freedom Drive Glen Burnie
On April 17, 2021 at approximately 0148 hours, while investigating the Polk Drive shooting officers heard multiple shots fired nearby. Officers canvassed the area and located a residence with damage to the rear sliding door as the emergency call was dispatched for the 6400 Block Freedom Drive for a shooting just occurred. Investigation revealed residential security surveillance which was reviewed and a suspect description was developed. While searching, a call for a destruction to auto on a nearby court was dispatched with a suspect description matching the surveillance footage. Officers confronted the suspect who was taken into custody without incident. The suspect was in possession of a loaded semi-automatic handgun. The occupants of the residence were not injured.
