Fatal Crash Investigation-Curtis Bay

On April 19, 2023, at approximately 4:00 p.m., Eastern District officers responded to a traffic crash at Fort Smallwood Road and Energy Parkway, Curtis Bay, MD. The investigation revealed that a 2022 Toyota 4-Runner was travelling northbound on Fort Smallwood Road turning left onto Energy Parkway. A 2022 Suzuki motorcycle was travelling southbound on Fort Smallwood Road approaching the same intersection. The motorcycle and Toyota collided in the intersection. The motorcycle then struck a 2023 Acura that was travelling eastbound on Energy Parkway. The driver of the motorcycle was ejected as the motorcycle came to rest near the wood line.
The driver of the motorcycle sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for advanced medical care. He was later pronounced deceased. The drivers of the other two vehicles were uninjured.
The Traffic Safety Section is investigating the crash.
