Western District

Fatal Crash – Severn

On August 9, 2022, at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers responded to Telegraph Road (MD 170) and Buckingham Place in Severn for a crash involving a sedan and a motorcycle.

An Acura sedan was east on Buckingham Place, facing a flashing red signal. A Kawasaki motorcycle was southbound on Telegraph Road, facing a flashing yellow signal. The Acura entered Telegraph Road intending to turn left. The motorcycle struck the Acura in the intersection.

The driver of the Acura was not injured. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to an area trauma center, where he was later pronounced deceased.

This crash is under investigation by the Traffic Safety Section.

Commercial Burglary - Linthicum

On August 10, 2022, at approximately 4:15 a.m. officers responded for a report of a burglary that just occurred at the Tobacco House, 829 Nursery Road in Linthicum. The complainant observed three suspects breaking the window of the business, entering, and leaving in a vehicle with property. The vehicle was last seen on the ramp to I695 East. The suspects were described as three black males operating a white, sedan. Western District

Commercial Burglary - Hanover

On August 10, 2022, at approximately 1:30 a.m. officers responded for a burglar alarm at the Shell Gas Station, 2631 Annapolis Road in Hanover. Upon arrival, officers observed that the front window of the business had been shattered. Officers viewed surveillance footage and observed what appeared to be four black male juvenile males throwing a rock through the front window and entering the business. The suspects took several items of value and fled the store in what was possibly a black or dark gray sedan and a white sedan.
