Attempted Robbery / Glen Burnie

On August 10, 2021, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery that occurred at approximately 5:00 a.m. (delay in reporting) in the area of Georgia Avenue and Ritchie Highway. The 29-year-old male victim was waiting for his ride to work at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Ritchie Highway when five black males approached him and demanded cash from him. When the victim told the suspects he didn’t have any money, one of the suspects pulled out a handgun, holding it down to his side, and again demanded cash from the victim. The victim then ran to an area restaurant and called 911. One of the suspects followed the victim into the establishment but immediately fled when he learned the police were called.
Suspect: Black male, 5’ 9”, 160-170 lbs, black hair, wearing a blue shirt and black pants

On August 11, 2021, at approximately 1:30 a.m., an officer was patrolling the area of 5th Avenue and Padfield Boulevard in Glen Burnie when he observed an occupied vehicle. Upon approaching the vehicle and checking on the occupant, the officer noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The officer spoke with the occupant, determined he had an outstanding arrest warrant and placed him into custody. Further investigation resulted in the seizure of 70 grams of Marijuana, 32 pills of Alprazolam, and a digital scale.

On August 10, 2021, at approximately 10:10 p.m. officers conducted a traffic stop of a Maroon Ford Taurus in the area of Crain Highway and Route 97 in Glen Burnie for a traffic violation. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers received information that led to a search of the vehicle resulting in the seizure of 10.7 grams of suspected Cocaine, 61 Xanax bars, several Suboxone strips, THC wax, and $880.00 U.S. currency. The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly.

On August 10, 2021, at approximately 5:00 p.m., officers responded to an assault at Wayman Avenue and Douglass Avenue in Annapolis. The 67-year-old male victim approached a gray Nissan sedan parked on the grass along the roadway to confront the occupants regarding how they were parked. As he approached, he noticed the vehicle was occupied by three subjects and also noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Upon speaking with the vehicle occupants, an argument began. When the victim told the driver he was calling the police, the driver accelerated, striking the victim with the vehicle's front bumper. The vehicle then fled the area. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle or driver. The victim sustained a minor injury from the assault.
