Northern District

Shots Fired / Glen Burnie

On August 16, 2020 at approximately 10:20 p.m. officers responded for a report of shots fired in the unit block of Phyllis Drive in Glen Burnie. The victim heard a loud noise and noticed a bullet hole in a window frame and a projectile on his living room floor.  Officers met with neighbors who advised they heard one or two gunshots, but did not see any suspects. No other damage was discovered and no injuries were reported as a result of this incident. Eastern District

Commercial Robbery / Glen Burnie

On August 17, 2020 at approximately 2:40 a.m., officers responded for a robbery at the 7-Eleven located at 7701 Quarterfield road in Glen Burnie. An unknown male entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded cash from the register. The clerk complied and the suspect fled the store. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.  No injuries were reported as a result of this incident. Western District

Carjacking / Severn

On August 15, 2020 at approximately 4:00 p.m. officers responded to a report of an armed carjacking in the 1800 block of Eagle Court in Severn. An adult female delivery driver reported she was carjacked by an unknown male.  The male entered the passenger side of the victim's vehicle, a white 2017 Honda, threatened her with a knife and demanded the vehicle.  The victim exited the vehicle at which time the suspect drove away in the victim’s vehicle toward Reece Road. An officer observed the vehicle near Reece Road and Telegraph Road and attempted to stop the vehicle.  The vehicle fled toward Quarterfield Road.  Officers attempted to pursue the vehicle but lost sight of it on Quarterfield Road.  Officers then located the vehicle on Quarterfield Road near Old Stage Road where it had crashed and overturned, striking two vehicles, a 2002 GMC Truck and a 2012 Ford Fusion, causing disabling damage.  The suspect was ejected from the carjacked vehicle. An officer rendered medical aid to the suspect who was transported to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries. The drivers and passengers of the other vehicles were uninjured. The victim of the carjacking was not injured. Criminal charges are pending the suspect’s release from the hospital.
