Attempted Robbery - Glen Burnie

On August 26, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers responded to the 7800 block of Park West Drive in Glen Burnie for an attempted armed robbery of a citizen. The victim made arrangements over an e-commerce app to purchase an item. When he arrived at the location, two unknown males approached his vehicle. One of the males got into the victim's car on the passenger side, displayed a handgun, and attempted to rob him. The victim got out of the vehicle and ran. Both suspects fled in a blue sedan with tinted windows. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident. Western District detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to contact 410-222-6155. Suspect Description: 

5’9” tall black male, thin build, 20 - 30 years of age, wearing all-black clothing
5’6” tall black male, thin build, 16 - 20 years of age, wearing a blue shirt and black pants

Tips for Conducting Safe Transactions

If you plan to purchase items using e-commerce sites or apps and have to meet in person to complete the transaction, please consider the following safety tips: 

  • Insist on a public meeting place. Do not meet in a secluded place. 
  • Do not go into someone else’s house or allow them into yours.
  • Complete the transaction during daylight hours. •Be especially careful when buying/selling high-value items.
  • Consider making exchanges at one of our Safe Transaction Zones
  • Take your cell phone along if you have one.
  • Have someone accompany you and tell others where you're going.
  • Trust your instincts.
