Burglary (Arrest) / Linthicum

On August 27, 2020 at approximately 10:45 p.m., officers responded for a commercial burglary in the 400 block of Camp Meade Road in Linthicum. Anne Arundel County Fire Department personnel observed a male burglarize the Exxon gas station located at 402 South Camp Meade Road. Officers arrived as the suspect was exiting the gas station and placed him in custody. The investigation revealed the suspect had also burglarized the Luncheteria located at 412 South Camp Meade Road and was found to be in possession of property stolen from both businesses. The suspect was transported to central booking and charged accordingly. He was also served on an outstanding arrest warrant through Baltimore City for burglary.

Western District
Fatal Crash / Jessup

On August 27, 2020, at approximately 9:30 pm, officers responded to Wigley Avenue and Orchard Avenue in Jessup for a multi-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.
A Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling northbound on Wigley Avenue toward Orchard Avenue at a high rate of speed. A Ford SUV was turning left from Orchard Avenue onto Wigley Avenue when it was struck by the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was ejected.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead on the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire Department personnel. The body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Baltimore for an autopsy. The driver of the Ford SUV was uninjured.
Preliminarily, the primary cause of the crash appears to be the motorcyclist failing to control speed to avoid a collision. Determination of drug and alcohol use is pending the results of toxicology testing. The Traffic Safety Section is handling the investigation.
