On August 26, 2023, at approximately 5:05 a.m. officers responded for a robbery of a citizen in the 100 block of Hilltop Road in Glen Burnie. The adult male victim was sitting in his vehicle in a detached garage when he was approached by a male suspect who displayed a knife and demanded his property. The victim complied and the suspect fled towards Bellegrove Road. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident. On August 26, 2023, at approximately 12:50 p.m. officers responded for a citizen robbery that occurred in the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie. A juvenile male suspect confronted the 15-year-old male victim, implied he had a weapon, and demanded the victim’s bicycle and money. The victim complied and the suspect fled. Responding officers located the suspect on Lamplighter Ridge and took him into custody.

Carjacking - Glen Burnie

On August 27, 2023 at approximately 4:20 a.m. officers responded for a carjacking that occurred in the 600 block of Crain Highway North in Glen Burnie. The 61-year-old male victim was in his black 2010 Nissan Maxima when he was approached by two male suspects. The males assaulted the victim, pulling him from his vehicle. The suspects drove off with the victim’s vehicle. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle or suspects.

On August 25, 2023, at approximately 1:05 p.m., officers and supervision responded to an apartment complex located in the 100 block of Ethel Drive in Laurel for a report of damage caused by a projectile fired from a weapon. The victim advised a bullet traveled through her ceiling from the apartment above hers. On August 25, 2023, at approximately 7:50 p.m., officers responded for a strong-arm robbery in the 7000 block of Arundel Mills Circle in Hanover. The victim was in a stairwell of a parking garage when he was assaulted by a group of juvenile males who punched him in the jaw and stole his sneakers and iPhone. Responding officers observed one of the suspects with the victim’s property. The suspect fled but was quickly apprehended by officers. The suspect was arrested and charged. On August 27, 2023 at approximately 9:15 p.m., officers responded for a report of an assault that just occurred at the Applebee’s, 2408 Brandermill Boulevard in Gambrills. Investigation revealed that a juvenile patron of the establishment physically assaulted one of the employees. As the suspect was assaulting the victim, an adult, who was accompanying the suspect pulled out a stun-gun and was arcing the weapon while pointing it at other employees. Both the juvenile and adult suspect made numerous threats to return and “shoot up the place.” During their investigation officers learned that the adult suspect had an outstanding warrant for their arrest. Both the juvenile and adult suspect were arrested and charged accordingly.
