Attempted Murder; Suicide / Pasadena

On Friday, August 7, 2020 at approximately 12:31 a.m., the Anne Arundel County Police and Fire Departments responded to the 300 block of Ridge Road, Pasadena, Maryland for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival officers located two persons suffering from gunshot wounds. The adult female victim was transported to a local Trauma Center for treatment of her life threatening injuries. The other person suffering from a gunshot wound was identified as Matthew John Borck, a thirty-three year old male from the 800 block of Willys Drive, Arnold, Maryland, and was pronounced deceased at the scene.  

 

Homicide detectives responded to the area with their Evidence Collection Unit to process

the crime scene. Several items of evidentiary value were collected for further forensic testing. Multiple witnesses were located during area canvasses and interviewed in regards to the shooting. The investigation revealed Matthew Borck was estranged from the adult female victim. Evidence indicated Matthew Borck entered the residence where the adult female confronted him at which time he shot her. Matthew Borck then used the same firearm and took his own life.

Shooting / Brooklyn

On August 7, 2020 at approximately 1:30 a.m. officers responded for a shooting at the Comfort Inn located at 6921 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in Brooklyn. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was in a hotel room when he heard a knock at the door. When he opened the door, three unknown male suspects entered the room and demanded money from the victim. When the victim told the suspects he had no money, one of the suspects fired multiple gunshots at the victim. The suspects then fled. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. White male, approximately 25-30 years old, thin build, wearing white t-shirt, dark pants, tattoo on left hand

Black male, 20-30 years old, thin build, wearing light blue t-shirt

Western District

Destruction to Property (Gunshot) / Severn

On August 6, 2020 at approximately 7:40 a.m. officers responded for a damage to property complaint at a residence located in the 1200 block of Chestnut Street in Severn. The homeowner reported she heard a loud pop the prior evening at approximately 8:00 p.m. and noticed a small hole in a window screen and the glass of the window on August 6, 2020 at approximately 6:45 a.m. No projectile was located and no one inside the residence was injured. Detectives believe this may be damage from the previously reported shooting on Jamestown Drive in Severn. Western District

Shooting (Update) / Hanover

On July 19, 2020 at approximately 5:15 a.m. officers responded to a parking lot in the 7000 block of Arundel Mills Circle for a report of a shooting. The victim had a verbal confrontation with a subject in an unknown vehicle. A witness heard a gunshot and the suspect vehicle fled the area. The adult male victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Update:

Through their investigation, detectives identified the below person as the suspect in this shooting. A warrant was issued but served in another jurisdiction therefore no booking photo is available.
