On August 6, 2021, at approximately 3:20 a.m., an officer was patrolling the area of Harding Road and Bunch Avenue in Glen Burnie when he observed a vehicle stopped on the side of the road with the driver’s door ajar. The car was running and the headlights were on. The officer noticed the driver was slumped over in the vehicle and stopped to check on the driver’s welfare. The officer awakened the driver and, upon observing signs of impairment, had the driver perform several field sobriety tests, which he failed to perform satisfactorily. The driver was arrested and found to be in possession of approximately 249 grams of marijuana and $1891.00 U.S. currency. The driver was charged with impaired driving and possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance.

Motor Vehicle Tampering (Arrest) / Pasadena

On August 5, 2021, at approximately 10:25 p.m., officers responded for a report of a motor vehicle tampering in progress in a commercial parking lot in the 8600 block of Fort Smallwood Road. A witness observed the suspect looking into vehicles and pulling on door handles. A responding officer observed the suspect at the front of the business, who immediately fled from the scene. The officer quickly stopped the suspect a short distance away. The suspect was identified by the witness and found to be in possession of a Chevrolet emblem and a bag containing a folding knife, screwdriver and a pry bar wrapped in a pair of socks. The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly.

On August 5, 2021, at approximately 1210 p.m,, a Western District officer was patrolling the area of Parkway Drive and National Drive in Hanover when he observed a vehicle being driven with the front bumper dragging on the ground. The officer stopped the vehicle, and upon speaking with the driver, obtained information which led to a search of the vehicle resulting in the seizure of a small amount of suspected cocaine, a capsule containing suspected heroin/fentanyl, and a loaded 9mm Fabrique Nationale pistol. The driver was found to be prohibited from possessing firearms and was arrested and charged.
