Attempted Robbery / Glen Burnie

On December 18, 2019 at approximately 11:10 a.m., officers responded for report of a bomb threat at the Popeye's located at 7009 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie. The suspect entered the restaurant, displayed a note indicating he had a bomb and demanded money from an employee. The employee did not comply and the suspect left the restaurant on foot towards Crain Hwy. An off-duty officer was in the area and located the suspect who was positively identified by the victim. A search of the suspect revealed he was not in possession of an explosive device. The suspect was arrested and transported to Northern District for processing.

Attempted Robbery / Brooklyn Park

 

On December 18, 2019 at approximately 7:40 p.m., officers responded for an attempted citizen robbery in the 300 block of Doris Avenue in Brooklyn Park. Two adult males were approached by an unknown male suspect who implied he had a handgun and told the victims get on the ground. The victims did not comply with the suspect's demands and ran away from the suspect. The suspect did not display a weapon and no injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
