Automated Traffic Enforcement Speed Program Update
Anne Arundel County Police Announcing Installation of Additional Automated Speed Enforcement Cameras
On December 21, 2024, automated enforcement cameras will become active in three non-school-zone locations within the county. These cameras will be active 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Citations will be issued following a 15-day warning period. Below are the locations of the newly installed speed enforcement cameras.
- 4700 block of Sands Road, Harwood
- 2200 block of Johns Hopkins Road, Crofton
- 400 block of Queenstown Road, Severn

Eastern District
Shooting (Non-Contact) - Glen Burnie

On December 18, 2024, at approximately 8:28 p.m., officers responded to the area of Southgate Old Mill Park after reports of multiple gunshots being heard in the area. Upon arrival, officers searched the vicinity. Evidence of gunfire, including shell casings, was discovered in the 400 block of Long Towne Court. Additional evidence, including more shell casings and a damaged vehicle, was found during a subsequent canvass of the area. Eastern District detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to call 410-222-6155. Preliminary investigation suggests that two groups of individuals were involved in an exchange of gunfire.
