Weapons / CDS Violation - Brooklyn Park

On December 17, 2021, at approximately 9:20 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop of a blue 2018 Ford Crown Victoria on Brookwood Road near Alley 33 in Brooklyn Park. As officers were speaking with the driver outside of the vehicle, the front seat passenger moved from the passenger seat to the driver's seat and accelerated, causing the open door of the vehicle to strike the officer. The vehicle sped off but was soon located on Christian Road where it had crashed.  The driver had fled from the vehicle but was quickly apprehended. Officers located a 9mm Glock style polymer 80 “ghost” handgun and approximately 37 grams of suspected marijuana inside the suspect’s jacket that he had discarded just prior to being apprehended. The original driver was cited for the traffic violation and released from the scene.  The original passenger was arrested and charged.

Carjacking - Glen Burnie

On December 19, 2021, at approximately 12:45 p.m. officers responded to the Exxon gas station located at 8001 Crain Highway in Glen Burnie. As the 37-year-old male victim was walking toward the store, a male suspect got into his vehicle.  The victim ran back to his vehicle in an attempt to prevent the suspect from taking his vehicle, a 2018 black Kia Optima. The suspect pointed a handgun at the victim and drove off with the victim’s vehicle. 

At approximately 4:30 p.m. officers patrolling the Northern District observed the stolen vehicle and suspect on Belle Grove Road in Brooklyn. Officers stopped the vehicle and found the driver to be in possession of 15.75 grams of suspected marijuana and property belonging to the victim. The driver was arrested and charged accordingly.

On December 20, 2021, at approximately 2:20 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop of a white Kia Optima in the 800 block of College Parkway in Annapolis. Upon approaching the vehicle the officer noticed the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.  A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of approximately 34 grams of suspected marijuana and a loaded 9mm Polymer 80 “ghost” handgun. The driver was taken into custody and charged accordingly.

On December 18, 2021, at approximately 11:15 p.m. officers responded to the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center for a report of an assault.  The 31-year-old male victim reported that he was walking along Green Branch Road and Greentree Terrace in Glen Burnie when he was approached by an unknown suspect who asked for a lighter.  The suspect then stabbed the victim in his torso with an unknown object. The suspect fled and the victim was driven to the hospital by a friend. Eastern District detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to contact 410-222-6145. Assault (Shooting) - Severn

On December 18, 2021, at approximately 6:15 p.m. officers responded for a report of a shooting in the 8200 block of Coatsbridge Court in Severn. A 24-year-old male and a 23-year-old female were sitting in a vehicle on Tomlinson Court when an unknown suspect or suspects fired gunshots at them. The victim then ran to Coatsbridge Court to call for help.  Officers arrived and rendered medical aid to the victims until they were transported to an area hospital for treatment of their non-life-threatening injuries. Officers spoke with several neighborhood residents who stated they heard several gunshots but were unable to provide any suspect description.  Western District detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to contact 410-222-6155.
