Fatal Crash - Brooklyn Park

On December 25, 2022, at approximately 3:30 a.m., officers responded to a crash in the area of Church Street and Liberty Terrace in Brooklyn Park. Officers learned that a Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Church Street, approaching the intersection. At the same time, a pedestrian stepped into the roadway and was subsequently struck by the Chevrolet truck. The driver immediately exited his vehicle, called 911, and attempted to render emergency medical aid to the pedestrian. Upon the arrival of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The pedestrian was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact manner of death. The driver of the Chevrolet was not injured.

On December 27, 2022, with the assistance of the FBI, the pedestrian in the crash was positively identified as 18-year-old Carlos Ho-Macz.

Assault/Pursuit - Odenton

On December 27, 2022, at approximately 11:45 a.m., Officers and supervision responded to the Target and Petco in the Waugh Chapel Towne Centre for reports of a suspect, who inappropriately touched and sprayed an unknown substance on multiple women. While investigating the initial calls, a third call in progress was received from the Safeway in the adjacent shopping center. Officers observed a vehicle and driver matching the suspect's description leaving the area and initiated a traffic stop. The driver was initially cooperative but fled when asked to step out. The vehicle traveled into a parking lot, then drove directly at and nearly striking officers on foot and police vehicles twice. A brief pursuit was authorized as the vehicle continued to flee on private roadways before going off-road and getting stuck in a ditch. The suspect was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit without injury. He was positively identified, and at least seven victims were identified. A bottle labeled as lotion, believed to be the substance, was recovered and submitted for analysis. The suspect was charged with multiple counts of assault, sex offense, and traffic offenses. Carjacking - Hanover

On December 27, 2022, at approximately 7:40 p.m., officers responded for a carjacking on Swansbury Drive near Timberneck Way in Hanover. A 61-year-old female was driving home with her 38-year-old daughter and 9-year-old grandson in her 2021 black Mercedes G Wagon when she encountered a vehicle, a Dodge Charger, in the roadway. The driver of the vehicle motioned for the victim to go around him. When the victim parked in front of her residence, she was rear-ended by the Dodge Charger. Two black males dressed in dark clothing and masks got out of the Charger armed with handguns and demanded the victim’s keys. Both vehicles were driven away from the scene by the suspects. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident. Through investigation, detectives were able to locate the victim’s vehicle in Washington, DC. Weapon Violation/Assault - Severn

On December 27, 2022, at approximately 6:00 p.m., officers responded to the 1600 block of Severn Run Court for shots being fired. The victim reported that Terrance Brown shot a handgun at him several times. The suspect exited the rear of the residence in an apparent attempt to escape and was placed under arrest.

During the execution of a related search warrant, a loaded Ruger P95 9mm handgun (serial number obscured) was recovered from the suspect's belongings. The suspect is prohibited and was charged accordingly.
