On December 29, 2024, an Anne Arundel County Police Officer was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence by a Maryland State Police Trooper in Queen Anne's County, Maryland. The driver was identified as off-duty, Corporal S. Dolan, a 10-year veteran of the Anne Arundel County Police Department assigned to the Bureau of Community Services. Corporal Dolan has been administratively suspended with pay pending an investigation by the Office of Professional Standards.

Shooting (Non-Contact) - Glen Burnie

On December 27, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers responded for a report of a shooting in the 100 block of Margate Drive in Glen Burnie. The victim was driving his vehicle on Margate Road between East Furnace Branch Road and Westfield Road when the rear window shattered. No one was injured. Officers did not locate any projectiles in the victim’s vehicle, however, located several spent shell casings on the road in the 100 block of Margate Road. On December 28, 2024, victims reported damage to two parked vehicles and a house in the same area. Carjacking - Linthicum

On December 28, 2024, at approximately 6:25 p.m., officers responded for a carjacking on West Nursery Road in Linthicum. The 38-year-old male victim reported that he was in his vehicle when he was approached by a male who tapped a handgun on his car window. The suspect ordered the victim to get into the passenger seat and drove to the area of U.S. Route 1 in Jessup, where the victim was let out of the vehicle. The vehicle, a gray Dodge Challenger, was later recovered by Maryland State Police, unoccupied, near I-195 and Washington Boulevard. Robbery (Citizen) - Glen Burnie

On December 28, 2024, at approximately 9:30 p.m., officers responded for a citizen robbery in the 100 block of Warwickshire Lane in Glen Burnie. The victim was approached by a black male suspect who implied he had a handgun and demanded her purse. The victim fled without turning over any property to the suspect. On December 29, 2024, at approximately 7:10 p.m., officers responded to the Cerritos Restaurant located at 7559 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie for a robbery. Two male suspects entered the business armed with handguns and demanded cash and property from the business and one of the employees. The suspect fled in a dark SUV. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle or suspects. On December 28, 2024, at approximately 6:20 p.m., officers responded for a shooting in the 8200 block of Parham Court in Severn. A single round was shot through an upstairs bedroom window and into the ceiling. No injuries were reported. Officers searched the area but didn’t locate any possible suspects.
