Fatal Crash Lothian

On December 5, 2023, at approximately 2:10 p.m., officers responded to southbound Route 4 near Lower Pindell Road in Lothian for a single-vehicle crash. The investigation revealed a 2018 Toyota Yaris was traveling southbound on Route 4 when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene by Calvert County Fire officials. This crash is under investigation by the Traffic Safety Section.

On December 5, 2023, at approximately 9:20 p.m., officers responded to the Shell gas station located at 463 Camp Meade Road in Linthicum in reference to a fight where one subject was armed with a knife. Upon arriving at the location officers observed the suspect holding a knife to the throat of the victim. Officers gave commands, the suspect dropped the knife and was taken into custody. During the investigation, officers discovered the suspect threatened the victim with the knife and then took items the victim was in possession of. The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly.

On December 5, 2023, at approximately 10:50 p.m., officers stopped a black BMW for an equipment violation. A search of the vehicle based on probable cause resulted in the seizure of approximately 11.85 grams of suspected crack cocaine, approximately 2.64 grams of suspected heroin, four suspected Vyvanse pills, a bottle of liquid methadone (approximately 25.61 grams), and a loaded .45 caliber pistol.
