On December 8, 2021, at approximately 9:30 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Ritchie Highway and Belle Grove Road. During the stop, officers located a loaded Smith & Wesson .9mm handgun and a small amount of marijuana. The driver was placed under arrest and charged accordingly.

On December 8, 2021, at approximately 2:00 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Vintage Circle and Elvaton Road in Glen Burne. A probable cause search was conducted, a loaded .9mm polymer handgun, approximately 15 grams of marijuana, and a box of 48 .9mm rounds were recovered from the vehicle. The driver was charged accordingly.

Weapons Offense & Trespassing / Harwood

On December 9, 2021, at approximately 7:30 a.m. officers responded to Southern High School for a trespassing/weapons violation. School administration/employees were alerted that there may have been a male juvenile on campus who did not attend the school, armed with a knife. School administration/employees located the juvenile and confirmed he did not attend Southern High School. The School Resource Officer was on scene and additional officers responded as a precaution. The male juvenile was found to be in possession of pepper spray and a smoking device with suspected marijuana residue. He entered the school with a female companion who is enrolled in Southern High School, she was found to be in possession of a knife.
As of this point, it is not believed anyone was threatened with the knife or pepper spray. This incident is still under investigation and we are asking anyone with any information to call the TipLine at 410-222-4700.
