Recovered Stolen Vehicle/Weapons Offense - Odenton

On February 21, 2023, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Anne Arundel County Auto Theft detectives assigned to the Washington Area Vehicle Enforcement Auto Theft Task Force (WAVE), were notified of a stolen vehicle entering Anne Arundel County. The detectives learned that the vehicle, a black 2022 Honda Civic, was reported stolen during an armed carjacking outside of Anne Arundel County in January 2023. Detectives observed the vehicle as it was traveling on Aviation Boulevard and were able to maintain surveillance on the vehicle until it came to a stop in the 8300 block of Telegraph Road in Odenton. Detectives were able to approach and detain the driver without incident as he exited the vehicle. During a subsequent search, detectives located a loaded semi-automatic handgun in the driver's waistband along with approximately 13oz of suspected marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver was arrested and charged accordingly.

Carjacking - Odenton

On February 21, 2023 at approximately 8:45 p.m., officers responded for a report of a carjacking that just occurred in the 2100 block of Peaceful Way in Odenton. The victim stated that while they were parked in front of a community dumpster, they were approached by a black male in their early twenties, wearing all black, with a black face mask, and armed with what they described as some type of rifle or shotgun. The suspect pushed the victim to the ground and stole the victim’s dark blue 2014 Toyota Camry. The victim last observed their vehicle traveling in the direction of Blue Water Boulevard. A witness went on to say that the suspect was accompanied by a second vehicle, a silver or gray Hyundai four-door sedan, occupied by what they described as two black males in their late teens or early twenties wearing dark clothing and masks. Suspects: Three black males, late teens to early twenties, last seen wearing all dark clothing and masks, at least one of which was armed with an unknown type of rifle/shotgun.
